AN ALLOA man is to face trial in the new year, accused of endangering a victim's life by battering him unconscious with a child's scooter.
Daniel Beattie is said to have been acting with others in the alleged assault in, which is said to have left the alleged victim severely injured.
The 29-year-old faces a single charge on indictment, in that he did repeatedly kick and punch the man on the head before repeatedly striking him on the body with the two-wheeled toy.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on April 8 in Ash Grove, Alloa.
Beattie was not personally present when his case called at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Wednesday, but his solicitor Jim Savage said he had authority to tender a plea of not guilty on his client's behalf.
Sheriff Craig Caldwell set a trial – expected to last three days – for January 15.
