A DOLLAR couple are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this Friday, April 1.
Kathleen, 71, and David, 74, McAdam tied the knot in Dollar Parish Church on a lovely day and it was no joke as they have now been together for 50 years.
Both originally from Ayrshire, their families moved to the Wee County when they were young - Dave to Alva and Kate to Dollar.
The couple today
The couple were engaged when her sister was immigrating to New Zealand in July, they wanted her to be Kate's bridesmaid and April 1 was the only available date for the ceremony.
They have lived in Dollar ever since, Dave ran a successful business with his brother Jim and just retired recently, while Kate worked as a nursery nurse in the county starting at Broad Street Nursery in 1959. She retired from Sauchie Nursery after 32 years of service in 2004.
The couple have two daughters, Donna and Lindsey who married locally and they also have two granddaughters.
Kate and Dave will celebrate with family and friends when they will gather for food and company on Friday.
