A WEE County teenager who signed up to the Alloa Half Marathon just weeks before the event raised more than £300 for charity.
After losing a loved one in February, Robbie Jack decided taking part in the 13.1 mile race would be a fitting tribute.
In memory of his aunt Lesley McGarvie, and former boxing coach Gibby Turnbull, he went on to complete the route.
The 17-year-old – who runs regularly and has been a member of Alloa Boxing Club for seven years – managed to raise £393 for Strathcarron Hospice.
He said: “They looked after my aunt so it was for a good cause.
“I wanted to do it for them; it was a good bit of recognition.
“I'm quite proud of it – I'm just grateful to everybody that donated.”
On the day itself he said there was a good atmosphere and there was always someone to chat to along the way.
It is also a race he would consider doing again next year.
Robbie, from Alloa, paid a visit to the hospice this week to hand over his donation.
He said: “I'm quite proud of what I have done, quite happy too.”
The Alloa Academy pupil thanked all those who donated to the cause and supporters who greeted him at the finish line.
He gave a special mention to John and Kelly Whyte from Alloa Boxing Club for their help.
