THE Ochils Landscape Partnership's Kirkyard Trail project swings into action at 7pm on Tuesday 22 January with a Historic Kirkyards Event in the Ben Cleuch Centre, Tillicoultry.

A major focus of the project is gravestone conservation and data recording across seven ancient Hillfoots kirkyards. Ultimately an electronic database of the stones will be made freely available at www.ochils.org.uk.

Susan Mills, Clackmannanshire Council's Museum and Heritage Officer, will introduce the many interesting stones in the Hillfoots, which include a few Viking-age hogback stones as well as many industrial tradestones. Eleanor Young, from Logie Old Graveyard Group, will showcase the terrific work that has already been done by volunteers at Logie.

If you would like to help out with the Historic Kirkyards project, or would simply like to learn more about it, come along to the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry for 7pm on Tuesday 22 January.
