POLITICIANS Keith Brown and Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh have praised Clacks’ groups on their success in securing funding from the Big Lottery Awards for All Scheme.
Alva Academy has received a £6,590 grant and will use the funding to provide a range of extra-curricular sports activities for pupils.
Lornshill Academy has received a £7,181 award. The school will use the funding to provide a range of percussion instruments which will be used to establish an extra-curricular percussion ensemble for pupils.
Tillicoultry Parish Church will get a £7,606 grant and will use the funding to develop a derelict piece of land that they own into a community garden.
Tillicoultry Bowling Club has received a £9,900 grant to decorate and improve the facilities at their clubhouse.
Hawkhill Community Association is getting £8,375 to fund the replacement of flooring in their large hall.
Dollar Community Council has received £9,284 to help fund a community Winter Festival, including winter lights, a ceilidh and a Christmas market.
And Cambus and District Bowling Club will get £9,500 for repairs, redecoration of the clubhouse, a new lawnmower and a sprayer.
Keith Brown MSP said: “I am delighted that these local projects have all been successful in gaining Lottery funding - all of these grants are a great way to show the variety of projects that can be funded through Awards for All for people of all ages.”
