A WEE COUNTY man was rushed to hospital at the weekend after being stabbed in the neck and chest in Alloa.
The 40-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries following a violent altercation at a flat on Whins Road on Saturday (26 September).
Police have since arrested and charged Alloa man George Drummond with attempted murder.
Officers were called out to the property at around 8.30pm before later detaining the 34-year-old.
The victim is believed to have sustained chest wounds as well as lacerations to his neck, however, he has since left hospital.
A statement issued via the Forth Valley Police Scotland Facebook page read: “We have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man with attempted murder following an incident where a 40-year-old man sustained lacerations to his neck.
“The incident happened around 8.30pm last night in Whins Road, Alloa.”
Mr Drummond appeared in private at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday and made no plea or declaration.
It is believed he did not seek bail and was remanded in custody.
He is to re-appear before a sheriff next week for a full committal hearing.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed: “Officers in the Forth Valley were called out to a property in Whins Road, Alloa, at around 8.30pm on Saturday evening.
“A 34-year-old male was detained was expected to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court this week.”
