THOUSANDS of pounds were raised around the Wee County as part of the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning last Friday (25 September).
Alva Academy managed to raise more than £24,000 for the cancer support charity.
Students and staff sported fancy dress, sold hot drinks, cakes and other baked goods for parents and visitors.
MSP Keith Brown, who attended, said the students and staff “go over and above” each year and “this year was no exception”.
Hundreds of pounds was raised elsewhere too. Sunnyside Primary School and Nursery also took part in Alloa, while residents at Tullibody’s The Orchard Care Home enjoyed cakes and entertainment as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
There was also a bake sale at Forefront Stage School, where £275 was raised.
