THERE will be a vote to select local representatives to sit on the new Clackmannanshire and Stirling Integration Joint Board.
As the Advertiser highlighted earlier, the Scottish Government is seeking members of the public to represent local health and social care service users on the board, which is being set up as part of the new Health and Social Care Partnership between NHS Forth Valley and Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils.
Three candidates have been put forwards for the secret ballot, which will also see people appointed as substitutes.
Voting will take place next week in Sauchie Community Hall at 7pm today (Wednesday 30 September).
The new board will oversee the work of the partnership, and there will also be an election for a local service user who will work with the Strategic Planning Group, which will identify local goals and priorities.
NHS Forth Valley Public Partnership Forum development co-ordinator Jessie-Anne Malcolm said: “The roles involve attending meetings, taking part in patient and service users forums and becoming involved in public consultations.
“I am very encouraged by the response we received and I’m delighted that three people have been shortlisted for these important new posts.
“Whoever is chosen will receive an induction which will include background information about health and social care integration and an overview of all the services which the new board will become responsible for.”
The representatives will make sure that the voice of local service users is heard and give them the chance to help shape the future of how health and social care services are delivered across the Wee County.
