A 35-YEAR-OLD man with a drink problem has been returned to prison after exposing himself to an elderly driver whose car he had climbed into.
Phillip Hutton was released on license shortly before he drank himself into a state and began “wandering about” Alloa bare-chested.
He was observed striking parked cars in the Sauchie Health Centre car park while appearing “unsteady on his feet”, before getting into the passenger seat of the elderly driver’s car.
Depute fiscal Ann Orr told Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday that the driver shouted at him to get out of the vehicle.
Another witness then walked past with her seven-year-old daughter and watched on as the accused further disgraced himself.
The prosecutor told the court: “She saw the accused get out of the car, pull down his trousers and expose himself to the elderly driver before running off.
“The lady was shocked and alarmed by what she had seen and contacted the police.”
Officers later saw the accused at the Tarragon House homeless shelter and began to speak with him.
However, Hutton then began to shout and swear at police before being arrested for his abusive behaviour.
Defence agent Alistair Ross told the court that Hutton had been released from custody “a matter of days” before this incident took place.
He added: “He has a very significant alcohol problem and has had so for a number of years.
“He remembers very little of the incident.
“He’s going back into custody and is entirely realistic about that,” he said.
Sheriff David Mackie then ordered that Hutton, of Mar Place in the town, complete the remainder of his sentence, which was calculated to be 214 days.
