A TEENAGER has appeared in court this week charged with the attempted murder of an infant in Clackmannan.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, appeared in private at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (5 October).
He was charged with assault to severe injury and attempted murder and made no plea or declaration.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at an address in Clackmannan in August this year.
The teen, whose address was given as Stirling, was released on bail following his brief appearance on Monday.
Police Scotland said the incident was reported earlier this year but that the teen appeared in court this week.
A spokeswoman confirmed: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of 10-month-old child.
“The incident was reported to police on Friday, August 28. The man appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, October 5.”
