POLICE have recovered more than £10,000 worth of drugs following a raid on a property in Alva this week.

Following a tip off from a member of the public, officers armed with a search warrant tossed the house on Wednesday (4 November).

After the massive stash was found, the occupant was detained and later charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled substance.

Along with the drugs -- believed to be amphetamines -- a substantial quantity of cash was also recovered within the property.

The male occupant then appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Friday and was subsequently remanded in custody.

After the hearing, a Police Scotland spokesperson issued a warning to other dealers in the area.

He said: "This operation was carried out based almost entirely on information received from members of the public and acted upon by Police Scotland at the earliest opportunity.

"This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. If you have any information in relation to the misuse of drugs then speak with your local officers, in complete confidence, or contact Police Scotland on 101 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 and help us beat the drug dealers."
