GET your dancing shoes on and help to raise much needed cash for the BBC’s Children in Need this week.

To collect funds for the cause, Clackmannanshire teenager Chloe Wotherspoon has organised and will lead a cracking Clubbercise class which will take place on Wednesday, November 11, at Alva Academy.

Those who get involved can embrace the opportunity to get active, while having a packed evening of fun and activities.

Chloe (18) said: “The Children in Need Fundraiser is going to be a full hour of a Clubbercise class. Clubbercise is dance aerobics in a darkened room with glow-sticks and disco light to club anthems from the 90s till now.

“Afterwards there shall be children’s party dances and games along with face painting, a raffle and a cake sale.

"The raffle prices are fantastic and I would like to thank local businesses for donating them. Raffle tickets are £1 and shall be sold up to the evening.”

Children in Need provides grants for projects within the UK that focus on disadvantaged children and young people.

In support of it, there is an appeal show featuring a whole evening of entertainment every year, with the 2015 event due on Friday, November 13. It’s a cause that Chloe, from Clackmannan, is keen to support.

She said: “I’ve always donated to Children in Need since I was little as it’s something my mum has always done and encouraged me to do, but now I’m old enough to organise a fundraiser.

“I love doing things that benefit and make a difference to other people as it makes me feel good about myself; knowing that I’ve helped make a difference and done my bit to support a fantastic cause.

“As part of my job I coach children and I absolutely love it and that’s another reason I’m fundraising for Children in Need; Every child deserves the right to a happy and active life.”

Tickets for the fundraising event are £5 for adults, £3 for under 18s and it takes place between 6-8pm in the Assembly Hall.

Under 18s will also receive a sponsor form and all proceeds are going to Children in Need in time for the live show on BBC1.

Chloe added: “This event is open to anyone aged 5 to 105 who wants to get involved for charity.

“I would say to anyone thinking about coming down and getting involved: ‘just do it’.

"This is something the whole community can get involved in, the whole family, a whole club, it’s open to everyone. There will be loads of whooping, money raising, sweat, laughs and jokes.”
