An Alva Community Council spokesperson said: "The Christmas Fayre will bring a warm glow for the community and lots of smiling faces in anticipation of the festive season.

"We hope that Santa and his Elves may be able to visit, there will be a grotto ready for him just incase so children and adults will be able to tell Santa what they’d like for Christmas."

Stevie will perform at around 3.30pm before flicking the switch at 4pm on the tree in the park adjacent to the hall.

Alva Academy Dancers will perform and Alva Primary School Carol Singers will also "enchant the crowds" with several songs during the Christmas Fayre and there will be face painting, refreshments and tombola.
