THE Wee County Children’s Christmas Shop will return for a second year.
The store at 1 Coalgate, Alloa, will be officially opened by Santa Claus himself at noon on Tuesday, December 1.
Run by Women for Independence Clackmannanshire, last year it helped dozens of local families enjoy the festive season and raised £1,600 for Clacks food banks.
The organisation hopes to do even more in 2015.
As with last year, the shop will stock new and good quality pre-loved children’s toys, clothes and equipment.
Everything is available on a “pay what you can” basis so that everyone can afford a good Christmas.
The shop will be open 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, right up until Christmas Eve.
Once again all proceeds will be divided between the local food banks to help support the individuals and families that rely on the service.
Last December the shop was overwhelmed with kind donations of quality children’s clothes, toys and accessories, with organisers hoping for another good response.
Donations can be dropped off over the weekend of Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 and will be gratefully received.
A crowd funder has also been set up on Just Giving for anyone who would like to help towards the running costs of the shop.
