SIX people have been arrested following a series of orchestrated drug raids in Sauchie and Tillicoultry this morning (Wednesday).

A quantity of cocaine and heroin was recovered after police kicked in doors during the early hours.

Three flats in both Sauchie and Tillicoultry -- including one directly across from the gates of a primary school.

Dozens of officers were employed this morning in the actions, as part of ongoing efforts under Operation Core.

The drug teams hit an address on Main Street, Sauchie shortly after 7am before raiding a house in Fir Park, Tillicoultry, only a few minutes later.

The latter address lies just metres from the entrance to Tillicoultry Primary School.

Chief Inspector Drew Sinclair, local area commander for Clackmannanshire, told the Advertiser: "This drug enforcement activity was the result of intelligence-led policing.

"It was delivered whilst engaging and working with partners in Clackmannanshire Council, NHS and social work who assisted in providing specialist support to those affected by signposting those in need of such services such as addiction recovery, care of children and temporary accommodation.

"We have responded to what the communities have told us is a problem - drug dealing  - and we have used every tool available to us to ensure we take action and listen to those community concerns.

"Drug dealing is a local priority and we will continue to act on all information we receive in relation to drugs in our communities.

"High visibility reassurance patrols are being conducted in the areas concerned."

It is the second day of raids, following the execution of several warrants across the Forth Valley area yesterday (Tuesday).

Included in that operation, police tossed a flat in Backwood Court, Clackmannan, where they uncovered a massive £10,000 haul of heroin.

A female has since been arrested and charged with being concerned in the supply of controlled substances.

She appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court today but it is believed she was later released on bail.
