A WOMAN was left permanently scarred after a rowdy party-goer kicked off at a flat in Tillicoultry.

John McGill was asked to the leave the property on Roundelwood at around 5am on June 20 last year.

Police had previously attended the flat, following complaints of noise, and the other guests felt McGill's behaviour was behind the call out.

When asked to leave, he launched a glass tumbler at a wall, with the shards striking two people at the party.

One woman received a 1.3cm cut to her forehead and had to go to hospital for stitches.

Another person sustained a small cut to his chin.

McGill, of Tillicoultry, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday morning, February 2, and admitted to injuring the two people through culpable and reckless conduct.

In the case of the female complainer, the incident left her permanently disfigured.

McGill, 22, also pleaded guilty to a further charge of threatening and abusive behaviour after he was ejected from the flat.

During the hearing, Graham McLachlan, prosecuting, said: "As often happens when drink is taken, the witnesses and the accused became involved in an argument.

"The police had already been in attendance due to complaints about noise, and the witnesses thought that might have been due to the accused's behaviour and asked him to leave.

"He didn't take too kindly to that and began to be aggressive and picked up the glass which he threw, causing it to strike the wall and smash, pieces injuring the witnesses."

The court heard that McGill was then thrown out of the party, but once outside he grabbed a metal pole and began to brandish it in the street.

Neighbours saw what was happening, and called police, who arrested him.

Sheriff Craig Caldwell called for criminal justice social work reports, and remanded him in custody.

McGill, of Tillicoultry, described on indictment as a prisoner in Barlinnie, will reappear for sentence on February 25.
