An elderly lady's purse was stolen on the High Street of Alloa.

The theft happened around midday two weeks ago on Friday, January 29, after the lady attended the Royal Bank of Scotland cash-machine to withdraw money.

While she was at the ATM, she became aware of a woman, who was standing behind her as if she was in the queue.

The female standing behind her appeared to pay close attention to what she was doing - after withdrawing cash, the elderly lady placed her purse back into her handbag.

She, however, noted that the woman behind her did not use the cash-machine and instead started to follow her, eventually passing her speedily.

The elderly lady then checked her handbag and found that her purse was gone.

The female, suspected of stealing the purse, is described as around five foot six inches tall, between 21 to 40-years-old with shoulder length fair or blonde hair. She is possibly of eastern European origin and was wearing a puffer jacket with jeans.
