TWO individuals broke into the Devonvale Hall in Tillicoultry.
Information is being sought after cash, alcohol and other items were taken from the popular venue towards the end of last month.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Tillicoultry are investigating following a break-in to a community hall on Moss Road.
"The incident happened around 11.30pm on Sunday 24 January when two individuals forced entry to the property and stole various items including cash and alcohol from within.
"Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.”
A member of the Devonvale Hall Board, which cares for the premises, said a "substantial amount of cash" had been stolen.
Volunteers had been left shaken by the incident, they said, but wouldn't let it impact on the hall.
They added: "We won't let this affect the booking or running of the hall and it definitely won't affect the way we see our community.
"In fact, we think it might even bring us closer to them as we have had such an outpouring of support.
"We are going to plan a fundraising event at the end of March/start of April to help pay for everything, but we are still working on the details and will advise on it closer to the time."
