RISE have called for voters to back their "radical vision" for Scottish independence and a socialist society.

The left-wing electoral alliance have pledged to support a second referendum in the next parliament, to scrap the Council Tax and to pursue free public transport for all.

Bryan Quinn, the party's candidate for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, broke the party's policies into four sections – Respect, Independence, Socialism and Environmentalism.

On the former, he said: "We believe all people, regardless of their gender, sexuality, race or nationality should be treated with respect. We are proud that 55 per cent of our candidates are women.

"We will make inciting hatred against women a crime. To change the culture of sexism we will introduce gender equality and anti-sexism education into the school curriculum.

"We support the TIE campaigns aims to introduce LGBTI+ education into schools. We will pay all carers a living income. We will scrap the offensive behaviour at football act."

With regards to independence, Mr Quinn said: "RISE will table a resolution to give the Scottish Parliament a mandate for a referendum during the next parliament and we will only call for another referendum when we will win it.

"We believe in an independent socialist Scotland where we are free from Trident, NATO and the Monarchy.

"We want to address the reasons we returned a no vote by having our own Scottish currency and investing in renewables to replace oil.

"Electing RISE MSPs will help give a greater voice to our radical vision of independence and help us win next time."

Socialism is said to form the backbone of the RISE party and it's policies and as such the party would support a 60p tax rate on higher earners.

"We believe in a society that works for the millions, not just the millionaires," Mr Quinn said. "We are fed up of banks going unregulated, tax evasion and inequality.

"We won't stand by while people go to foodbanks, we will tax the richest in our society by increasing the top rate of tax to 60 per cent for those earning over £150,000.

"We will save the poorest in society money by scrapping the council tax and replacing it with a fairer income based alternative that makes the rich pay their fair share.

"With some of the money raised from these taxes on the wealthy we will invest in an economic justice fund that will give unconditional support to all those sanctioned.

"We will also invest to clamp down on tax avoidance to stop the rich avoiding their tax. We support a citizen's income which is an unconditional income given to every person to cover their basic needs."

And finally, on environmentalism, the candidate added: "The pursuit of profit above everything else is destroying our planet. We will seek to ban fracking and unconventional gas extraction. We will lead the fight against fracking in the parliament and on the ground if needed.

"We want publicly owned, free public transport for everybody in order to reduce car usage and improve the ability of people to travel for work or tourism. Renewable energy is the only long term future for energy and we would invest in green jobs to make Scotland the renewable capital of Europe.

"We would also build 100,000 green council houses that would be more energy efficient and cheaper to heat.

"RISE MSPs will take an average workers wage, serve only two terms and make a public record of all lobbying. Don't wait for independence to change Scotland, use your second vote to put socialists into parliament to fight inequality now."
