POOR quality fake £20 notes have been tendered in nearby Dunblane.
And as the Advertiser reported last week, officers in the Forth Valley area have said a number of counterfeit £20 notes had also been recovered from several shops in and around the Wee County, particularly in the Hillfoots towns and villages.
Similarly, the dodgy notes were said to have “particularly noticeable” fake holograms and were identified as counterfeit by a detector pen.
A male suspect tendered the notes in two Dunblane High Street shops last Saturday, May 7; he is described as a white male with a Glaswegian accent, around 25-40-years-old, with short fair hair and a very skinny build. He is around 5ft 8in and was wearing a black t-shirt with black trousers.
Officers are appealing for any information regarding the incidents, contact Police Scotland on 101.
To remain anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
