SAUCHIE Community Group’s fun day was a smashing success.
On Saturday, June 4, the sun shone brightly on Fairfield Park as the event was opened by George Rennie, one of the organisers of the original fun fairs held in the ‘90s.
Sporty Lion welcomed the guests with great enthusiasm, while members of Elite Dancing entertained the crowd with two excellent displays.
The children enjoyed face painting, an arts and crafts table and a balloon-maker along with show rides, a disco and bouncy castle.
There were competitions that included a flat race, three-legged race, hoops, space hopper, egg and spoon, bean bag and many more.
There was also a five-a-side football game and the great tug o’ war, won this year by The Sauchie Community Group All Stars.
Medals were awarded to the participants.
The resident DJ kept everyone entertained throughout the day with lively music.
The event was presented by Sauchie Community Group with funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All.
The Community Group wished to thank all the volunteers who spent many hours organising the event, the police youth volunteers for their assistance and cheerful disposition, PC Hamilton and the community wardens for their support during the event, and everyone who turned up on the day to help make it a success.
