COWDENBEATH Rotary Club's president for 2016-2017 is Derek Walker.
The Dunfermline based businessman took over on Thursday from Lesley Porter.
Derek told rotarians: "The Rotary International motto for the coming year is 'Rotary Serving Humanity' and for me this is something the Cowdenbeath club has been good at for many years.
"Indeed, over the past 12 months the club has been able to provide support for people in stricken part of the world such as Syria and also for people in our own community and I want to make it our goal over the next 12 months to ensure that we keep up this good work.
"We are a small club but we continue to punch above our weight and it has to be our aim to keep achieving that."
He reflected that the Cowdenbeath Rotary Club was now over 90 years-old and the members continued to give 'Service above self' in big volumes.
He added: "I know that we have a hard working group here, small in numbers but with big hearts, and hopefully in the coming months we can swell the numbers to maintain the levels of good work done at home and abroad."
