VEHICLES leaving the park area after Saturday's Kelty Gala caused damage to the grassed areas.

The heavy showers which fell during the morning and wet weather at times last week, meant that there was a fair amount of moisture in the surface.

And with the vehicles which had been in the park to provide a variety of facilities caused some damage on leaving.

A few Kelty residents were a bit concerned when they saw some get stuck.

Said one of them: "The park has been recovering from the work done to create the pathway which links the Main Street but this damage has put it back."

Lochs councillor Alex Campbell was concerned by situation and pledged to work with the parks and open spaces department to get things repaired as soon as possible.

He said: "The heavy showers of Saturday posed the problems which found the ground becoming very soft.

"Clearly some of the vehicles struggled to get out of the park area and inevitably some damage was caused.

"I will be speaking to Stephen Duffy of the parks and open spaces department and I am sure that the staff will be able to affect repairs as soon as possible."
