TWO supermarket chains are recalling tinned foods over fears they may contain rubber.

The tinned goods affected include ravioli and macaroni cheese by Sainsbury's and Tesco.

Both retailers claimed the products are being recalled as a “precautionary measure”, told customers not to eat the foods, which have been manufactured in Belgium, and asked people to return them for a full refund.

It is understood notices will be displayed in stores where the products are sold.
