LOCAL MP Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh will be joining fellow SNP representatives in voting against the renewal of Trident at Westminster today.
The debate is expected to begin soon, sometime after 4pm today in the House of Commons, when MPs will vote on whether to renew Britain's nuclear weapons programme.
In a statement on her Facebook page, Ms Ahmed-Sheikh said: “Trident is an obscenity; a replacement even more so.
“It’s the ultimate in inhumanity: the wanton destruction of perhaps millions of people you can’t see, thousands of miles away, literally at the touch of a button.
“That's why tomorrow evening in Westminster I'll join other SNP MPs in voting against the replacement of Trident nuclear weapons.”
