A WOMAN was saved by a passer-by when she was assaulted in Alloa over the weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened around 5pm on Saturday, July 16, when a 23-year-old female was walking on the path connecting Greenfield Street and Sutherland Avenue.

A person from a group of four pushed her from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. She was then repeatedly kicked to the head and body and the victim believes four people were present when the attack happened, but only one person was kicking her.

The suspect was wearing blue trainers and black Adidas three-stripe tracksuit bottoms, the victim could not give a more detailed description.

The assault was witnessed and halted by a passer-by, who intervened.

Officers investigating the case are keen to identify the person responsible and are also looking for the witness, who potentially prevented serious injury to the victim.
