Held at Alloa Academy, the kids have been taking part in a Torch Relay, Opening Ceremony and took the Olympic Oath before receiving coaching sessions and playing games in 10 different sports.

The programme has been designed and is being delivered by the Active Schools team in conjunction with newly trained sports leaders and are part of the council seven-week-long Active Summer calendar.

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

The Flames Festivals are a unique project, originally designed by the British Health Foundation, in which children take part in sports and activities whilst learning about the wider values of the Olympics and Paralympics.

Every child receives a medal each day and a certificate highlighting which of the seven values they have portrayed.

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

This year's Clackmannanshire Flames Festivals will see over 200 children aged 5-12 years take part in 80 hours of sport and activity.
