ALLOA Art Club chair, Anne-Marie Marshall, and Ochils Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) secretary, Sam Shortt, came together to launch a joint project that runs throughout the summer.

The fundraising exhibition at The Gallery at Gordon R McFarlane Jewellers and Watchmakers, on Mill Street in Alloa, will run until the middle of August.

Neil McFarlane – gallery owner and curator, with links to OMRT through Scouts and as a former assessor with the Red Cross – was happy to support the display, which includes a 50p raffle with prizes donated by Bar Aldos, IGS Art and Craft, Fleur de Lys Glass, derenz, and all artist members who are donating a percentage of the price of their sales.

Many paintings have already been sold and Anne-Marie said: "It's been inspiring to see the level of public support for this event, and a delight to tempt the public with more original art."

OMRT's expertise in search and rescue, as well as their high proficiency in first aid, marks them out as an organisation that is relevant to communities across Scotland.

Sam said: "What I like about Clackmannanshire is that so many people and organisations work to support each other, and that is why it was without hesitation that I accepted the invitation to be involved in this summer project."

The raffle will be drawn on Saturday, August 13, and the gallery is free to enter.
