A YOUNG man will have to carry out unpaid work after being caught with cannabis.
On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Rodney Bain admitted having the Class B drug in his possession at his home address on October 24, 2015.
The court was told that Bain, of Lochies Road in Clackmannan, had sold a motorbike for £3,000 and then used £500 to bulk buy herbal cannabis.
It was claimed that this was the first time the 20-year-old had bulk-bought the drug and he had no intention of supplying it to others other than sharing it with his brother.
During a police search of his house, the drugs were recovered in a plastic tub alongside his brother’s bank card.
It was said that Bain’s father strongly disapproved of his actions and the disappointment from his family was a wake up call for the accused.
Sheriff Gillian Wade told Bain that it was a “serious matter” before sentencing him to a Community Payback Order with 200 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
