A RANGE of free activities will be offer around the Wee County this Saturday as part of I Am Team GB.

Said to be the UK's biggest ever sports day, the National Lottery and ITV led initiative will see thousands of local sports venues and clubs opening their doors to the public all around the nation in the wake of Team GB's Olympic achievements.

Events in Clackmannanshire will include a taster at Dance Attack in Alloa. People are invited to head along between 9.30am and 1pm to the venue, located at The Loft at the trade centre on Bruce Street, and enrol for free or find out more about classes, which are available for tiny tots from 2.5-years-old through to S6. There will also be a chance to try golf at Muckhart Gold Club between 10am and 11am, when those attending will receive an hour's free tuition from the club's coaches. Equipment is supplied, but people are welcome to bring their own clubs. To book a place, call 01259 781 493.

People will also have the chance to try skiing during two different events at the same venue. Ski instructors will be at Firpark Ski Centre from 1pm to 2.30pm, sharing their passion for the sport. Then, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, Muckhart and District Ski Club will be holding a free introduction to race training. People will have the chance to meet the coaches and club members, for more, email info@madsnowsports.co.uk.

And last, but not least, the Wee County Vaulters will be holding their Vaultathon at Balhearty Farm in Coalsnaughton between 1pm and 5pm. Members will be aiming to keep vaulting for four hours with a 10 minute show on the hour, every hour. People will have the chance to join in and try some vaulting. All are welcome, bring close-fitting, stretchy clothes.
