STIRLING ORCHESTRA has made it through to the grand final of the BBC's Great Orchestra Challenge.

Conductor Stephen Broad and his fellow musicians will battle it out in the final showdown this weekend against North Devon Sinfonia, when months of masterclasses, mentoring and rehearsals culminate in a musical playoff at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The local ensemble is hoping to be crowned Britain's most inspirational amateur orchestra this Saturday and is in for a chance to perform at the famous Proms in the Park in Hyde Park in front of family, friends and thousands of people.

Both orchestras are off to a boot camp to learn from a team of professionals in preparation for the grand finals as judge Paul Daniel gives them their last masterclass.

Saturday's episode of All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge will also follow the two bands as they return home ahead of the finale and try and squeeze in extra practise sessions between work and family life.

Tune into BBC Two from 8pm on this Saturday to find out whether the enthusiastic members of Stirling Orchestra will come out on top.
