A YOUNG man stabbed a window with a knife and made a slitting motion across his throat towards emergency crews.
On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, John Robertson pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and brandishing a knife at his home address on August 28 this year.
The 21-year-old, of the town’s Maree Court, also admitted preventing emergency services access to the property to provide assistance to another person, and struggling with police officers.
Fiscal depute Adrian Fraser told the court that Robertson’s girlfriend contacted the police because of his behaviour.
Officers arrived on the scene at around 10.20pm and tried to speak to the accused.
Robertson was described as being “obstructive” and would not allow access to a person who had fallen unconscious from drinking too much.
He told them to “f*ck off” and threatened: “I’m going to stab yous.”
The fire service arrived, to which the accused appeared at the front window with a knife.
Once again he told the emergency workers to “f*ck off” and then proceeded to stab the window with the knife and made a slitting motion across his throat.
When the police eventually got a hold of Robertson he struggled by holding his arms tight to his chest, however he later disclosed where he put the knife.
It was claimed in defence that Robertson remembered little of the incident due to drinking too much alcohol, but has since benefited from a rehabilitation order.
Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until November 24 to give Robertson an opportunity to stay out of trouble and engage with a current Community Payback Order.
