TRIBUTES have been paid to a "wonderful" family man who tragically died on Ben Nevis last week.

Fraser Campbell, who lived in Clackmannanshire, fell from the north face of the mountain on Friday evening.

Rescue teams were alerted to the situation by Mr Campbell's climbing partner, who was uninjured, and both men were airlifted from the area at around 2am on Saturday.

However, it was later confirmed that the 52-year-old had died from his injuries.

In a statement issued through Police Scotland on behalf of Mr Campbell's fiancée Julie and wider family, he was hailed as a devoted family man and avid climber.

It read: "Fraser was born in Glasgow, but lived most of his life on the North East coast of England, before moving back to Scotland with his family in June of this year.

"Fraser was my fiancée, my best friend and a wonderful daddy to our little girl. He was kind and had a bubbly personality.

"He radiated enthusiasm and positivity in everything he did, but especially for his two great passions; his family and climbing.

"He was dearly loved and he will be sorely missed by all his family and friends."
