POLICE investigating a religiously aggravated assault in Stirling have now released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to.

The incident originally took place on Monday April 18 this year at around 2.45pm in the Thistles Shopping Centre, where a 27-year-old woman and her young child were the target of the assault near Sports Direct.

Officers now wish to trace a man (pictured) as they believe he may be able to assist them.

Sergeant Robert Russell said: “While the victim was not physically injured, she was deeply offended and upset by this incident.

“We are keen to trace the male in the CCTV footage and would ask anyone who can assist us to contact police immediately.

“Anyone with further information relevant to this investigation is also asked to get in touch.”

The man is described as being between 18 and 20 years old, around 5ft 11in, white, of a slim build with black hair.

At the time, he was wearing a black jacket and black trousers.
