ALLOA bride-to-be Tamara Johnstone's dream wedding looked in doubt when her competition Facebook post was deleted.

As reported in the Advertiser previously, Tamara agreed with Party People that if she got 5,000 shares and 10,000 likes and comments on a Facebook post within three weeks she would win a £2,000 decoration package.

Tamara is due to marry Paul Heaver in Cyprus, where Paul has family, next September. The happy couple are to be welcomed back to Alloa as husband and wife with a reception.

Having already got more than the required number of comments and almost enough likes and shares to win the reception package from Party People, the post was reported to Facebook as spam and deleted.

Tamara was devastated as there would not be time to start again and win.

She explained: “I thought that was it, we'd given it our best shot but we didn't think we would get it.”

This despair soon turned to joy when Party People agreed to give her the prize.

John Dornan, from the local business, said: “We told her she could have it. She was well on her way to winning it. It was unfortunate that people reported the post.”

Tamara said: “We were in Cyprus visiting family when we were told. I was over the moon.”

While on the island the couple visited the place where they are to marry which Tamara said was the highlight of her year.

The delighted couple have already been for a look to see what they won. Originally Tamara had wanted an LED dance floor for guests to dance the night away on.

Thanks to the package they can get decorations like chair covers and centre pieces for the tables too.

Paul and Tamara have been engaged for four years and having the perfect day means a lot to them both. With the help of Party People and all those who liked, shared and commented on the post the night will be extra special.
