AN ALVA man has admitted abusing call centre staff and issuing threats of violence over the phone.

Steven Macgregor, 43, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court yesterday (Monday, November 21) charged with threatening and abusive behaviour.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was told to return to the dock shortly before Christmas, after a social work report had been compiled.

Between September 21-26 last year, he repeatedly made calls to Aviva customer services in which he repeatedly swore, uttered homophobic and racially offensive comments as well as uttering threats of violence to call handlers.

Macgregor, of East Stirling Street, will be sentencing on December 22.
