THERE was fun for all the family at Play Alloa’s recent Christmas Fayre.

Plenty of activities were on offer to to keep the kids entertained including balloons and face painting. Youngsters were soon painted as tigers or had a snowman or reindeer on their faces.

Maria Malcolm, Play Alloa’s project manager said: “It was terrific, it was great. There was a good number of people and some great stalls.”

Plenty of local businesses had tables at the event so it was a good chance to get the Christmas shopping started with some locally-made unique crafts.

The Cake Bank and Sweets and Treats were on hand with some tasty goodies and plenty of volunteers got busy baking for the Play Alloa cake table.

Charities such as the Brionni Trust also attended.

The prize draw was a big success with items ranging from football tickets to a drinks hamper and a pamper hamper courtesy of local beauticians.

There was a total of 37 prizes up for grabs meaning there was something to suit everyone.

The event raised a total of £1,812 which will go to Play Alloa.

Maria added: “It will go towards the running of groups that no longer have funding, but we still run.”

The charity runs groups for vulnerable young people such as youth clubs, life skills groups and a buddies group that aims to ensure young people with additional support needs get the same social opportunities other people their age take for granted.

Play Alloa would like to thank everyone who donated prizes, everyone who helped in any way and all the guests that attended.
