THE fire at a Sauchie house has been extinguished, after firefighters battled the blaze for hours.

Crews were called to Mansfield Avenue at around noon today and it is understood the incident was brought to a safe conclusion with no injuries about two-and-a-half hours later.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Advertiser: “Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend a fire at a property in Mansfield Avenue, Sauchie.

“Appliances from Alloa and Stirling were immediately mobilised at 12.07pm on Monday, November 28, following reports of the fire at a two storey block of flats.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main water jets to stop the fire spreading.

“There were was no one in the property at the time.

“SFRS Fire Investigation Unit are in attendance and will work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
