YOUNG people in the Wee County got to try out a range of new activities at a recent youth assembly.

The event at the Bowmar Centre, Alloa, was run by Clackmannanshire Council youth services and the Youth Council.

Kids decided the theme for this year's assembly should be health and well being.

Those attending could get on the dance floor during a Clubbercise session, learn some self-defence or work up a sweat doing circuits.

Folk could make their own smoothies using a special bike where pedal power worked the blender.

There were also more relaxing activities on offer and many of the girls took the opportunity to get their nails done.

In the music studio there was a chance to get behind the mixing desk with DJ skills workshops.

There were also information sessions on subjects including drugs and alcohol.

Representatives from groups including the Police Volunteers, Skills Development Scotland, Sports Development and Young Carers were on hand to discuss what opportunities they had had available and services they offered.

During the event young people were also invited to give feedback on the area and suggest improvements.

The Youth Council currently has seven vacancies needing filled. If there are more nominations then it will go to a vote at the same time as the Scottish Youth parliament election next March.
