SAUCHIE'S Christmas lights went on at the weekend as the town marked the beginning of the festive season with “absolutely brilliant” fun.
Hundreds attended Sunday's Christmas Fayre and Fun Day, organised at Mar Place and at Sauchie Hall by Sauchie Active 8, with something to do for all the family.
Santa's Grotto went down a treat with the kids, who also enjoyed feeding his real reindeer. There was also a tombola, free kids' rides, face painting, a range of stalls, hot food and drink and a children's choir.
Singer Alana Alexander and Gala Queen Rebecca Young, 12, switched the lights on early evening, putting the whole town into the festive mood.
Sandra Gruar, from Sauchie Active 8, said: “It was absolutely brilliant.
“Santa's Grotto was really busy, we had over 200 kids [attending].
“The reindeers went down a treat, kids loved the reindeers.”
She wanted to say thanks to Santa for visiting the town, the children and the kids' choir for raising funds as the events would not be possible without them, all Sauchie Active 8 volunteers for their hard work all year, all those who came with stalls and everyone who came along and supported the event.
Sauchie Active 8's next event will be the Pensioners' Christmas Dinner next Tuesday, December 6. Then, there will be the Kids' Christmas Pantomime next Friday, December 9, as well as the Kids' Christmas Party on December 14.
