THE workforce at Clackmannanshire Council will be reduced by 350 full-time positions, with a controversial redundancy package signed off by councillors today.
Proposals put forth by the Labour Administration were given the backing of the Conservative's Alastair Campbell, and voted through at Kilncraigs earlier this morning.
A second paper, to determine the restructuring of the council, is currently being debated.
Around 350 people can expect to lose their jobs with the local authority, with about 100 or so laid off each year.
All nine SNP councillors voted against the paper, with the eight Labour and sole Conservative members backing the measures.
However, the tie was broken by Provost Derek Stewart using his casting vote.
