A MAN took on four police constables in the middle of a street.

On Thursday, fiscal depute Ruaraidh Ferguson told Alloa Sheriff Court that the cops were directed to a disturbance at around 12.20am on June 26 last year.

When they arrived at Sauchie's Main Street, they found 44-year-old James McNab thrashing about on the ground surrounded by members of the public.

McNab theatened: "You're f**king dead, you c**t", "I'll find out where you live" and "I'll f**king smash you, you pr**k".

Whilst being detained, the accused struggled violently with four constables, lashed out with his fists and kicked out with his legs.

McNab, of Kersiebank Avenue in Grangemouth, admitted acting in an aggressive manner.

Defending, Kelly Howe claimed that her client suffered from anxiety and depression.

Although McNab had been of good behaviour since the incident, Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until March 9 for the completion of a Criminal Justice Social Work report to assess his suitability for unpaid work.
