PROTESTERS swarmed the town centre of Alloa in their numbers today.
The High Street was taken over by two opposing demonstrations, with the road closed to traffic for the afternoon.
The Scottish Defence League, which came along with a few dozen members, said it was protesting Syrian refugees being housed in the Clackmannanshire Council area – saying locals should be given priority.
Opposing them were more than a hundred people, affiliated with a variety of groups including organisers Unite Against Fascism, who say those feeling the horrors of the long lasting civil war are welcome in the Wee County.
