THE Rising are set to take to the stage in Stirling.

Alloa's Bruce Springsteen tribute band will appear at The Tolbooth in May.

Audiences can expect a night at the popular venue that is both lively and full of energy.

The musicians have returned following a sell-out gig in June and will bring a three-hour show covering all the classics, including material from Springsteen's entire back catalogue.

Vocalist Irene Lawrie, front man Steven Lawlor, guitarist Owen Munro, drummer James Munro, keys player Mike Carruthers and bass player Colin Ferguson will be joined by Felix the Sax Cat on saxophone.

Irene: "Having played a couple of smaller warm up gigs earlier in the year we are really looking forward to this intimate theatre gig.

"The seated venue differs from some of our other 'all standing' gigs such as the Oran Mor, however it will be lively and energetic none-the-less.

"While we have an extensive set prepared, including all the back catalogue and also Springsteen's more popular hits, we are prepared to deviate from the set and play what the crowd wants to hear.

"So in true E street style the audience are welcome to bring their request posters.

"We encourage our audiences to get involve and enjoy an authentic Springsteen experience."

The band bring their seven-piece ensemble to the city on the back of further sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Glasgow Oran Mor, where they will also appear this year.

The Rising, which formed in 2008, replicate a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band show in terms of precise musicianship and showmanship – aiming to deliver material with full vigour and passion, which has been a key factor in building their reputation.

The Stirling show takes place on Wednesday, May 10, starting at 8pm.

Tickets for the event can be purchased from the Tolbooth and Ticket Scotland.
