A MAN and his golden retriever were bitten by a "white boxer-type" dog in Clackmannan last week, police have said.
Officers are investigating the incident, reported to have taken place in the area of the Back Wood at 12.30pm on Thursday, April 13.
According to police, the victim and his dog were walking through the area and noticed two other men in the woods there accompanied by two large dogs, described only as white boxer-types.
At some point, one of the white boxers is said to have ran towards the retriever, knocked it into a ditch, jumped on top of it and started to bite it.
The retriever's owner is then thought to have intervened, before being bitten by the boxer who was then pulled away by its owner.
A passing cyclist then stopped and provided assistance to the retriever’s owner and contacted his family.
Police are keen to trace the owner of the two boxer dogs and the cyclist.
Anyone with information in relation to either, can contact 101 and quote CF0052640417.
