A WATER BOILER disappeared from Alva Scout Hall earlier this month.

The item went missing sometime between Wednesday, May 3, and Monday, May 8, and the organisation is appealing for help to get it back.

The Berco Signet 20 litre boiler disappeared from the hall's kitchen, prompting volunteers to search the area in case it was vandalised.

Unfortunately, the items has not been found since.

The hall is currently undergoing renovation and the group's chairperson Loes McEwan, who was in disbelief when she had discovered what had happened, told the Advertiser: “This is the last thing we needed now.

“I know it's like £80 for a new one, but it's still £80 which could have been spent better on something else.”

She is asking everyone to keep an eye out for anyone selling such an item in the area or online.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed, saying: “Police in Forth Valley are investigating following the theft of a water boiler from the Scout Hall in Park Street, Alva.

“The incident was reported to police on Friday, May 12. The incident is believed to have taken place between Wednesday, May 3, and Monday, May 8.

“Inquiries are currently ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Alloa Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 2224 of May 12.”
