A DEVASTATED Wee County girl was “over the moon” when she was reunited with her bicycle which was stolen earlier this week.

As reported in the Advertiser, a child's bike was stolen from an address in Tillicoultry overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, May 16 and 17.

The purple ride, which has green hearts all over it, was in the possession of the six-year-old girl for less than a week only after a long wait for the wheels.

Her mother, Louise Ewing, told the Advertiser: “My daughter's bike was stolen out of my front garden and she was more than devastated as she's only six and it took a while to get her one.”

Following the incident, she quickly launched an appeal on social media and luckily, local lady Jacqueline Purdie found the bike and returned it to its rightful owner.

Extremely grateful, Louise said: “I want to thank everyone for sharing and the lady for finding it especially.

“My daughter is over the moon about it, but it shouldn't have happened.”

Louise is hoping incidents like this will cease to happen, she said it was “heartbreaking” having to explain to her little daughter what had happened and no parent or child should have to go through that.
