IT WAS all fun and games at St Mungo's Parish Church on Saturday afternoon as they held their annual Manse BBQ.

Around 50 people went along to be a part of the event, which is organised to bring people together for an afternoon of laughter and excitement.

A spread of burgers and sausages was put on by award-winning chef Billy Campbell, who is also an elder at the church.

Friends and family met up to enjoy the fun-filled extravaganza, and spirits were not to be dampened by the slightly adverse weather conditions.

Catriona Thomson, a member of the church, said: "We do this every year and it was very-well attended, in spite of the gale. It was a great success."

A toe-tapping mix of live music, including traditional Scottish tunes and a bit of folk, was provided by duo George and Jim, and there was plenty on offer to keep the younger ones amused.

Ms Thomson added: "They [George and Jim] played a real variety of stuff, which was good.

"We had a bouncy castle and face painting, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone had a great time."

There was even a reunion as puppies that the church's minister had bred came back for a visit.

The dogs were overcome with excitement as they were reunited with their brothers and sisters.

Alexander Stewart MSP, Luke Graham MP and Provost Tina Murphy were among those in attendance enjoying the good food and company.
