THE end of term brought a spot of fundraising at Lornshill Academy last week.
On the final day before the summer holidays kicked off, Friday, June 30, pupils and teachers took on a Race for Life event.
They also had a dress down day in support of the cause and arrived wearing the colour blue.
The whole school took part in the 'race at your place' event and participants laced-up their trainers for a 3k walk.
Organiser Kirsty McKay, guidance and PE teacher, said: "It's a great success, enjoyed by all pupils and staff.
"The kids very much get the importance of research for cancer; they very much appreciate what they are raising money for and why they are doing it."
It was the second time such a fundraiser was held at the Alloa school, with the last one taking place around five years ago.
On the day, there was a memory wall where people could share a message detailing why they were taking part.
There was also some photobooth fun, with feather boas and various colourful hats and sunglasses.
Originally, the sporting activity was set to take place before the Easter break, but it was rained off.
However, they still managed to raise some money for Cancer Research UK through a pink dress down day.
