A TRIPLE trail trek-and-bike will raise funds for local youngster Logan Mowatt and his family.

Led by avid hillwalker and Tullibody man Stuart Hall, a group of generous adventurers will set off from Callander this weekend to generate cash for the six-year-old who was diagnosed with leukaemia at the beginning of the year.

The father-of-four and two of his sons will follow the Trossachs trail to Inversnaid, then they will join the West Highland Way to Fort William before scaling Ben Nevis.

They will then link onto the Great Glen Way all the way to Inverness and hope to finish it all in six days or less.

It is not just a fundraiser for local boy Logan, with Stuart saying: “There is another worthwhile cause that came to my attention two-three months back.”

He is also hoping to help Falkirk youngster Jamie Lee, 8, who has congenital muscle waste and lung disease.

“She's not got a very long expectancy of life, every day is a blessing for her parents and those around her”, Stuart explained.

Jamie's parents are hoping to build a small extension to their home very they can have all her sensory equipment in one place and to provide a space that increases her quality of life.

Involved in raising funds for the youngster is also Linda Foster and her friends, Stuart said: “If it hadn't been for their help, we would not have the bikes that we've got at the moment and would not have half the sponsors we've got – the ladies have been actually amazing.”

Stuart, who just turned 46 and hails from Kirkcaldy originally, enjoys hillwalking as it helps him with his mental health issues and wanted to embark on a hike this year anyway. “Why not do the walk, but do it for charity and raise a bit of money and make it more of a challenge?” he explained.

The fundraisers will be setting off this Saturday, July 15, their first few miles will be done on foot and people are being encouraged to join them in Callander.
